Integrated Teaching on AI at Faridpur Medical College

On April 23, 2026, I had the previlage to conduct an integrated teaching program for the medical students and faculties at Faridpur Medical College. I delivered a keynote presentation covering the evolution of AI, from its origins in mechanical reasoning to modern breakthroughs like AlphaFold. The address also touched on important ethical concerns such as AI hallucinations and data privacy, alongside practical experiences of AI usage in CHAMPS' Verbal Autopsy narratives, which help better understand death events from the perspectives of family members.
The session was conducted at the auditorium of the medical college. A total of 384 participants attended the session, including 56 faculty members and 328 students from various years of the medical school. The event aimed to build foundational AI literacy among medical students and faculties, equipping them to utilize AI's transformative potential, critically assess AI tools, and understand the ethical implications of AI in healthcare.
Dr Taukir Tanjim conducted the session and following my keynote, Dr Md. Sabbit Khan from the CHAMPS team conducted a hands-on training session, where participants engaged with various AI tools applicable to teaching, education, and research, such as NotebookLM, Claude Skills, and other medical-specific applications. The session concluded with closing remarks from Professor Dr. Dilruba Zeba, Principal of FMC, who emphasized the importance of such training in the current medical landscape and facilitated an interactive Q&A session.

Subsequent Sessions
Following the successful session at the Faridpur Medical College, me and my team has also conducted two teaching sessions at Kushtia Medical College and Magura Medical College. The latest session was held on September 23, 2026, at Magura Medical College (MaMC), bringing together 48 faculty members and interns from MaMC and Jashore Medical College. The Principal of MaMC chaired the session and emphasized the growing importance of equipping current and future physicians with knowledge of AI fundamentals, its ethical and responsible use, and practical applications in clinical research and evidence-based healthcare. Earlier, on April 23, 2026, a session at Kushtia Medical College on June 24, 2026, brought together 131 attendees.
