Integrated Teaching on AI at Faridpur Medical College

On April 23, 2026, I had the previlage to conduct an integrated teaching program for the medical students and faculties at Faridpur Medical College. I delivered a keynote presentation covering the evolution of AI, from its origins in mechanical reasoning to modern breakthroughs like AlphaFold. The address also touched on important ethical concerns such as AI hallucinations and data privacy, alongside practical experiences of AI usage in CHAMPS' Verbal Autopsy narratives, which help better understand death events from the perspectives of family members.
The session was conducted at the auditorium of the medical college. A total of 384 participants attended the session, including 56 faculty members and 328 students from various years of the medical school. The event aimed to build foundational AI literacy among medical students and faculties, equipping them to utilize AI's transformative potential, critically assess AI tools, and understand the ethical implications of AI in healthcare.
Dr Taukir Tanjim conducted the session and following my keynote, Dr Md. Sabbit Khan from the CHAMPS team conducted a hands-on training session, where participants engaged with various AI tools applicable to teaching, education, and research, such as NotebookLM, Claude Skills, and other medical-specific applications. The session concluded with closing remarks from Professor Dr. Dilruba Zeba, Principal of FMC, who emphasized the importance of such training in the current medical landscape and facilitated an interactive Q&A session.
